REBEL RACING
UI developed for the mobile racing game, Rebel Racing. Due to a small team size, rapid iteration and testing was required. I was involved in all areas, from heading up style development to implementing my work. Usability was the key consideration, with the end user kept in mind at all times. The tone of the game ties into three main areas: bright blue skies, the feeling of freedom, and exhilaration. The UI complements this through splashes of colour and strong diagonal lines.
the map
Working closely the 3d artists I designed and implemented the UI for a world map which had to balance usability, flexibility and immersion. The race popups contain a lot of info, so we did several design passes to make sure they were easily readable whilst still being stylish.
meta game
The bright daytime races are balanced by a darker dusk meta game. The same stylistic elements are kept, but are balanced with the more muted environment.
